Epical: A Guide to Being Super
Everything changed in the twenty-first century with cell phone cameras, the Interent, and social media. These advances in communication changed the dynamics of information supply. People became indisputably aware of Super activity and the world governments could no longer hide the advancement of humanity through super processes. Many of the existing superheroes and supervillains came out onto the world stage as larger than life characters. A new industry developed as ‘being super’ became the next big thing. Supers exploded into the entertainment industry. By the year 2010, supers had become a thing. Almost every city had a few heroes, villains, and Duds. Over the next decade, people became obsessed with Supes. They could not get enough of them.
Super-powered people who fight crime, injustice and inhumanity are rumored to exist, but embellishment of their exploits leaves the average person wondering if anyone could be that “Super.” In this realm, comic books are read by almost everyone, and six-figure contracts go to the costumed heroes whose noteworthy deeds can capture the hearts and minds of a population eager to accept them. Participants portray modern folk imbued with super powers. Plots deal in contemporary issues and themes with comic book flavor.
